A man has died after being hit by a train just minutes after a domestic assault.
Tariq Goss, 44, was struck by a train in the early hours of Friday March 2 near Upper Warlingham Station.
About 20 minutes earlier police were called to Godstone Road, Whyteleafe, to reports a woman in her 30’s, believed to be Mr Goss’ wife, had being attacked with a knife.
She suffered cuts to her hands and neck and was taken to East Surrey Hospital, but later discharged.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: "We are linking the incident to the death of a man on the railway line in the Upper Warlingham area. The deceased was known to the victim."
